The one you reach for first in the morning
The Chalk mug sits well in the hand, with a handle that fits three fingers and thick walls that keep tea hot. The matt glaze lets the tiny specks of the stoneware show through: every mug has its own starry sky.
It is thrown in Rouen, then the handle is pulled by hand and attached once the clay has firmed up. That is the trickiest step, and it is why we only make about thirty a week.
